Article XI. ARTIST PERMITS FOR ARTISTIC COMMERCIAL TRANSACTIONS IN DESIGNATED PUBLIC AREAS |
§ 11-242. Permits required.
(a)
Every person who shall desire to use a designated public area for an artistic commercial transaction shall first apply to and obtain a permit from the business license division. Such permit shall be in addition to any other tax or license to which permittee may be liable. Annual permits expire on June 1 of every year, without regard to date of issuance.
(b)
Only persons holding a permit may place easels, tables, chairs or similar furniture within the designated boundaries in furtherance of their artistic commercial transactions.
(c)
Permits are nontransferable.
(d)
Permits granted under this article, and when applicable, the total price for completed artistic recordings, works, paintings, sketches, or drawings, shall be displayed on the site on a removable temporary sign no larger than eight and one-half inches by 11 inches.
(e)
Failure to comply with the provisions of this article shall be cause to have the permit revoked for one calendar year by the business license division, with the appeal process being the same as a denial or revocation of a business license.
