Article III. STOPPING, STANDING AND PARKING |
Division 1. GENERALLY |
§ 12-90. Parking for certain purposes prohibited.
No person shall stand or park a vehicle upon any roadway or on any street in any parking space within the city for the purpose of:
(1)
Displaying it for sale;
(2)
Advertising of any nature whatsoever;
(3)
Washing, greasing, storing or repairing the vehicle, except repairs necessitated by emergency.
(4)
Camping, sleeping, lodging or the taking of residence in any camper, van, bus, or other motor vehicle on the public streets or in any park or public place; provided, however, that the city council may authorized such temporary use as a special event so long as the activity shall not constitute a nuisance and adequate measures shall be taken to ensure the safety of campers, preserve the cleanliness of the immediate and surrounding areas, and minimize adverse impacts on the community.
(5)
Selling merchandise from such vehicle, except in a duly established marketplace or when so authorized or licensed under this Code or other city ordinance.
(6)
Storage, or as junkage or dead storage for more than 24 hours.
