§ 12-131. Interpretation; installation.

(a)

Nothing contained in this division shall be construed to permit the parking of vehicles in those spaces where parking is prohibited.

(b)

For paid or metered parking, there may be installed on the sidewalk adjacent to each curb and within any parking space marked off upon streets or other lands designated by the city council by resolution, a parking meter, pay stations or electronic or telephonic methods of payment which, upon payment, will indicate the duration of the legal parking period or the time when that period has elapsed.

(c)

For timed parking, there shall be installed on the sidewalk adjacent to each curb and within any parking space marked off upon streets or other lands designated by the city council by resolution, appropriate public notice or signage, which will indicate the date and time restriction, permission or limitation of the legal parking period.
