§ 20.5-15. Existing telecommunications providers.

(a)

A telecommunications provider delivering service within or without the geographic limits of the city as of the effective date of this chapter who previously has been awarded a franchise may continue to operate according to the terms of the franchise it has been awarded.

(b)

Any telecommunications provider who as of the effective date of this chapter is delivering service without a franchise shall submit an application pursuant to section 20.5-4 of this chapter within 90 days of the effective date. The provider shall also submit a written statement indicating that it accepts the terms and conditions of this chapter while its application is pending and that it shall pay all appropriate fees retroactive to the effective date.
