§ 3-4. Sound trucks and sound amplifying devices.

  • (a)

    Sound amplifying devices or equipment defined. The words "sound amplifying devices or equipment," as used in this section, shall mean any machine or device for the amplification of any sound.

    (b)

    Permit required for operation. It shall be unlawful for any person to operate or permit to be operated in the city any sound amplifying devices or equipment for any purpose whatever, whether the same is stationary or operated from a vehicle or other carriage, unless a permit therefor has been obtained to do so from the city clerk, upon the approval of the city manager.

    (c)

    Loud and raucous noise prohibited. It shall be unlawful for any person using any sound amplifying devices or equipment to make any loud and raucous noise to the disturbance of the peace. Any person to whom a permit has been issued under this section who abuses his discretion and causes or permits loud and raucous noises shall, in addition to any penalty imposed for the violation of this section, be subject to immediate revocation of the permit issued pursuant to this section.
