§ 9-21. Fire chief responsible to manager; duties prescribed.
The fire chief shall be responsible to the city manager for the direction of all firefighting, fire prevention and fire service activities, including the inspection of properties within the corporate limits and filing all required reports with the insurance commission for the state. The fire chief shall direct the assignment of fire personnel, establish training programs, establish procedures pursuant to this Code and shall promulgate administrative regulations having to do with the operation of the fire department and shall cooperate with all other firefighting and fire prevention agencies as may be provided by this Code or other valid laws, regulations or directives.
