Article I. IN GENERAL |
§ 13-10. Trial of cases.
Any municipal judge shall have the power and authority to try all offenders in a summary way and without jury, unless a jury trial is demanded by the city or the accused. All proceedings and the disposition of any charges shall be made in open court. Any person to be tried in court may, prior to trial, demand a jury trial. The right to a jury trial shall be deemed to have been waived unless demand is made prior to trial. The jury, when demanded, shall be composed of six persons drawn from the qualified electors of the city in a manner prescribed or permitted by the general law of state.
