Article I. IN GENERAL |
§ 13-8. Duties of police.
In the exercise of discretion when the need arises, the chief administrative judge or any assistant or presiding judge may request the chief of police, or his designee, to attend the sessions of the municipal court. The chief of police and the police officers of the city shall execute the orders, writs and mandates thereof and perform such other duties in connection therewith as may be prescribed by the ordinances of the city or by state law. In the performance of these responsibilities, the chief of police and police officers, or any properly certified and trained courtroom security officer shall also be invested with the same powers and duties as are provided for magistrates' constables.
