§ 16-2. Duties of chief of police.

  • (a)

    The chief of police shall be the chief executive of the police force; he shall be chargeable with and responsible for the execution of the various rules and regulations of the council and the provisions of this Code and other city ordinances governing the police department, and all the provisions of this Code and other ordinances and rules and laws of the city together with state laws within the city. He shall make regular and stated reports to the city manager of the affairs of his department together with other matters pertaining to his office or other duties required of him.

    (b)

    The chief of police shall at all times discharge and perform other duties as may be required of him by the city manager.
